Best Tips For Hair Shine For Black Girls

By Nancy Gardner

If you are a black woman who wants to make her hair look the best, there are several tips you can use. Firstly, to achieve hair shine for black girls, avoid using grease on your scalp. Moisture is good, so stay away from petroleum products that can cause stiffness, dryness or greasiness. Instead, try using natural oils such as coconut, castor, jojoba or olive oil. You can also try natural shampoos and conditioners since these do not contain sulfates or sodium.

To begin with, you need to be careful how you clean it. You do not need to shampoo every day; once a week is just fine. Using a deep conditioning is important to keep it moisturized. You should condition it at least every three days to seal in moisture. Use whatever natural oils you choose. Do a deep conditioning regime every week, or at least twice a month.

Comb it carefully and do not be rough. It is a good idea to use a wide tooth comb instead of thin combs or bristle brushes that can cause snapping and breaking. You do not even need to comb it every day, just use your fingers to detangle it. When you do detangle it, make sure it is slightly damp to avoid breaking. Stay as low maintenance as possible.

Use organic products if you can and try to avoid anything with mineral oil or petroleum. This will only dry it out and prevent moisture from penetrating the hair shaft. Try using natural oils such as coconut oil and jojoba, which tends to work better. Some women prefer using natural products such as grape seed or olive oil directly from the bottle.

Split ends can also be a problem. Remember to moisturize your ends every day to prevent split ends or damaged strands. You can seal the ends of your strands using castor oil or coconut oil. These products can also make your hair look very shiny and healthy.

Do not be rough with it. It may tangle easily, and you may feel tempted to pull and yank on it to get the tangles out. Avoid doing this. It tends to only cause more damage. Instead, clear it out gently with a wide tooth comb. Use a wooden brush with soft natural bristles instead of a plastic one with plastic bristles, as this tends to cause less breakage.

If you are using heat styling tools, remember to use heat protection, such as grape seed oil, which is light and can endure high temperatures without burning your strands. This will help to control any heat damage if you accidentally use the heat styling tool for too long.

Avoid using rubber bands, especially if you have long hair, since they can snag and rip out strands. Instead, try using ponytail holders which have no metal clips. When you go to bed at night, wear a scarf or satin cap to protect your head.
