Effective All Natural Lice Treatments You May Try At Home

By Matthew Martin

It can be hard to accept the fact that your scalp is home to tiny insects that thrive on blood. To make everything worse, those creepy crawlers can also infect your family members easily. Worry not because there are plenty of lice treatments that you may give a try now. Below you will find some of the most proven effective ones.

Make a little garlic paste. Using your spice or coffee grinder, turn 10 garlic cloves into paste. Afterwards, add up to 3 tablespoons of olive oil to it. Mix very well and then smear on your scalp. Wait for half an hour to pass before you shampoo your tresses in the shower.

Massage some olive oil. If you cannot stand the smell of garlic, then feel free to use olive oil only. Apply a generous amount of if on your scalp and let it stay there for several hours. The best time to do this is before you hop into bed to sleep. Wear a shower cap to keep your pillows from ending up stained. Shampoo very well in the morning.

Rely on coconut oil. Usually, having head lice can cause tiny red bumps to appear on the scalp. The problem with them is they can feel really itchy. To deal with the bumps, itchiness and those creepy crawlers, too, apply coconut oil on your scalp and don that shower cap before you hit the hay. In the morning, shampoo your hair thoroughly.

Spread a little baby oil. For someone who is budget conscious, he or she may use baby oil instead of olive oil or coconut oil. Again, it's a good idea to have baby oil applied on the scalp at bedtime. Putting on a shower cap is definitely recommended. In the morning, shampoo the hair very well in order to get rid of excess scalp greasiness.

Count on petroleum jelly. Something that's easier to apply on the scalp than olive oil, coconut oil and baby oil is petroleum jelly. However, it can be more challenging to get rid of upon waking up the next day. Nonetheless, petroleum jelly is a fantastic home remedy for head lice that is sure to leave you impressed.

Count on a little tea tree oil. So many everyday health and beauty issues can be solved with tea tree oil's help. You may also put your trust in this essential oil if you want a scalp that's parasite free. All you have to do is mix 1 part tea tree oil and 6 parts shampoo. Massage on wet hair and put on that shower cap. Past the 30 minute mark, shampoo.

Mix white vinegar and salt. In a small bottle with a spray nozzle, combine 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup of salt. Shake until you see no more trace of salt. Spray generously on the scalp and wear a shower cap afterwards. Allow half an hour to pass before you hit the shower to shampoo and condition.

Smear generous amounts of mayonnaise. Believe it or not, mayonnaise is not only good at making sandwiches taste better but also getting rid of head lice. All you have to do is apply it liberally on the scalp. Let it stay there for 1 to 2 hours, or even longer for better results. Afterwards, hit the shower to shampoo your hair.
